Southern California Sulcata Rescue is a nonprofit animal rescue and rehoming service specializing in African spurred tortoises, commonly known as sulcata tortoises. These gentle giants are often purchased as pets when they are small; however, as they grow larger they require a proper habitat in order to thrive. As needed, we can also provide rehoming services for other land tortoise, land turtle, and aquatic turtle species. Our nonprofit sulcata rescue service is run entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers who deeply care about the quality of life for each of these precious shelled creatures we take in. As true animal lovers, seeing our rescued sulcatas flourishing in their new forever homes gives us a tremendous sense of joy and our mission is to find suitable new forever homes for the the beloved living creatures entrusted to our care.
