Due to the high volume of requests received and limited resources available, our intake process for sulcata tortoises is cordinated and managed by Southern California Koi Rescue, a nonprofit koi fish rescue service provider.
For large sulcatas (over 40 lbs.) we often prefer to arrange a new forever home with one of our approved adopters before initial instake. Smaller sulcatas (less than 40 lbs.) are cared for by our volunteers within one of our dedicated tortoise habatats indefinitely or until placement into a suitable new forever home via private adoption.
If you would like to surrender your sulcata tortoise to Southern California Sulcata Rescue for placement into a properly vetted new forever home, please submit a Sulcata Rescue Request below. Once your request is received, a volunteer will contact you to provide further assistance.
Due to extremely high demand and limited resources available, a $20 USD fee is REQUIRED for every sulcata tortoise we take in. Please note we do not provide onsite sulcata rescues; therefore, all sulcata tortoises must be surrendered to us. If you would like to surrender your sulcata tortoise(s) to us, please submit a Sulcata Rescue Request below.
Sulcata tortoise surrenders are by appointment only within the cities of Highland, CA 92346 or Victorville, CA 92392.
